In this episode I share insights gained from my years teaching at the college level. I outline four widely held beliefs that can interfere with learning. The beliefs are:
- In thine 0wn self, the truth.
- Science is for nerds.
- Answers matter most.
- Numbers are mere exclamation points.
Enjoy.
Andrew, I think this piece is the most brilliant thing you’ve posted that I’ve listened to/read so far. You certainly hit the point about opinions, and how people are taught to perceive science as a product rather than a process. I personally think that religion conditions the brain against rational thinking and evidence as a base of knowledge.
